SeaGems Cleaning Process for Natural Abalone Crushed Shells
Natural abalone shell mix trademarked “SeaGems” is a proprietary ad-mix of natural grade A abalone shell aggregate and is processed for use for a number of industries in the following procedures listed below:
Step by step cleaning process
1. Raw shells are crushed in an automated process
2. Crushed chips are sieve/screened to size for particular use (pool industry chip is screened to– 3.0 to 6.0 mm)
3. Sized chips are washed manually with clean potable water three (3) times
4. Washed chips are air/sun dried
5. Dried chips are packed manually while visually checking for debris or foreign matter
Shells are 99.9% Calcium Carbonate with a natural Ph level of about 9.0+Because of this, shells are a natural mold, mildew and fungus inhibitor.In fact, crushed shells are being used as soil conditioner, calcium supplement for foul/birds/poultry etc. and as filter media for waste water treatment
